Ms. Linnea has caught me up in her story telling four times. The books of the Eden Trilogy, written with her friend, B. K. Sherer, introduced me to her masterful story telling. The fourth,THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS, which I purchased on Amazon, invited me into another mystery that kept me at book with few breaks. Late at night when I finally put the book down to get some sleep, I told my wife that the characters were so well developed, so real, and the mystery so compelling that I wondered if I would dream about the characters I had met and the intrigue which was as compelling to me as it was to them. The Technicolor of my imagination in sleep didn't solve the mystery before me but gave life to the splendidly described people and places. The mystery was not solved as I might have dreamed. But as I finished the book I appreciated the way in which Ms. Linnea revealed the final answer. Mystery, love, passion and yes, violence are there throughout. I'm sure I shall dream again of Anastasia, Peter and all who were born and came to life amidst these violent delights. I eagerly anticipate the next in the author's movie mystery series.

I couldn't put this down ... and didn't want it to end!! Hope to see Anastasia & Peter in a sequel... please!
A great read. You will want to read the entire series.
I like mysteries that move along without a lot of graphic violence and bloodshed. This book fits the bill! Ms. Linnea weaves a story that moves back and forth between eras of time gracefully and easily. The characters are real and believable. I could not put it down and then was disappointed that I had finished. I truly look forward to the next book in the series.
Fascinating story with glimpses of both the film world and English locales . Good mystery with restrained glamour mixed with psychological intrigue and not- too complex, but beleivable, characters.
Having read her Eden series, I was thrilled when Ms Linnea published this latest book. Yes, she has wonderfully vivid settings and a great plot! But she captures me with her characters and that is why I read and reread her books. Her characters are complex, multifaceted and sympathetic. They draw me in. I found myself rooting for Anastasia and didn't want to put it down! As far as the mystery, I usually know "whodunnit" midway in a book but this time I was guessing till the very end! To Ms. Linnea I say "Next please!"
I'm a fairy new Sharon Linnea fan, have read all (so far) of the Eden Series and anxiously await the next. Those books are written in collaberation with B. K. Sherer. These Violent Delights was a book that cofirmed to me Sharon Linnea does really well writing solo! This was one I couldn't put down, a murder mystery well done. It took a little work on my part to recognize the spots where the book jumped from present times to backstory (I'm OLD, ok?). No segue was provided. But, after the first 2 or three times, I adjusted my senior brain to accomodate the switch.

This novel was a thriller to the last page!

I enjoyed this story even more than Sherer's and Linnéa's Eden series. The plot isn't complicated like an Agatha Christie mystery, but the author's deft clarity painting backdrops made it a page-turner. I found this to be a good story, but a great read.

The story comes alive like a movie after a puzzling introductory scene, with sharp details from the streets of North Hollywood to Somerset, England. Like the queen of murder mysteries, Linnéa relies on depth of character development and not gratuitous sex and violence to make the plot interesting. Some readers might find such craftsmanship old-fashioned, but I was never bored. I like reading strong prose.

Unlike the last Eden book I read, I had no hunch which character is the murderer so I was pleasantly surprised by how the final plot twist resolves.
