Fiona Wilder knows a lot about making bad decisions, she’s made some huge ones in the past and now she is all about living life on the straight and narrow; making the good choices especially now that she has her daughter to take care of and a new business to get off the ground and getting involved with the sexy fireman who causes her to burn so very hot definitely does not fall in the good choice column.

The first thing that struck me as I was reading this book was the similarities between Fiona and Mike. Both of them have had some major issues in their lives that led to them making some very bad choices in the past and they are still trying to make up for them. Fiona has her naughty side on lock-down and even though she is now at the point where she is open to a new relationship. This time though, she is going to do things in the right order and she is understandably resistant to going there with Mike because it gets harder and harder to keep ‘naughty Fiona’ under control around him.

Mike has this huge protective gene (probably part of why he became a firefighter) and feels that since he let his loved ones down, he does not deserve happiness so he indulges in very short-term relationships where both parties know the score – fun and done. However, with Fiona he wants more – to be the man she desire, the one she shares everything with and he is going to earn her.

Sweet Surprise is the perfect addition to the Sweet, Texas series. Both Mike and Fiona were very likable characters and made me very eager for them to find their happy ever after. Fiona was levelheaded, mature and very sure of what she wanted. And Mike. What’s not like about a hot and sexy fireman who just wants to protect you? As usual, Ms. Terry set the heat to a low simmer – the sultry glances and stolen kisses all leading to forever with these two. All I want to know is who’s up next?

Absolutely loved this book! Another great read from Candis Terry. She has a brilliant way of creating a town and community that you want to hear every person's story. She makes me want to find a town just like Sweet, Texas! Thank you for an enjoyable read!
I discovered Candis Terry in the summer of 2013 and since then I have purchased all of her books and enjoyed every one of them immensely. The characters are the kind of people you want to know and have in your life, and the story lines! Where do I begin! They are engaging from the first page to the last. I don't think Candis could write a 'bad' story if she tried ) In other words, please don't ever, every retire Candis! And thank you!
This one was cute and fun. The *only* reason I'm 3-starring it is because everything was toooo nice. The way she got along with her ex, I mean, even couples who love each other still have issues. I had a hard time with the fact that everything was happy lovey-dovey with her social life. No one ever got upset with each other.

Fiona deserves her happily ever after. She's a single mother, plans to open her own cupcake shop, and is best friends with her ex-husband, Jackson and his fiance.
Enter Mike. A rough looking firefighter best bud of Jackson. He has his own demons to battle, an alcoholic mother, two sisters going through life on a downhill spiral, one dead sister and a dead father (who's shoes he tried to fill at the age of 14).
Will they become the newest hot couple in Sweet? Or will they let their past keep them from what could be their "one"?
While Mike & Fiona's book is outstanding, it seems to hit a bit more on the serious side than the previous Sweet, Texas books. Even though there doesn't seem to be as much humor and laughter in this one, that certainly doesn't make it any less enjoyable. It may even make it better. Both Mike and Fiona have to fight through some pretty major baggage, but Candis Terry knows her stuff and wrote it with warmth, and the fact that these characters knew what they had to do to change it. Another wonderful book has been added to the collection and I'm so looking forward to the next one.
I loved this book right from the beginning. Fiona needed to have her happily ever in Sweet Texas, too. I fell in love with her from Jackson's story. Fiona, single mom, cupcake extraordinaire, and independent, has made some bad decisions in the past and now has her life going in the right direction when she meets hottie, firefighter Mike. Mike has come from a rough past, not looking for a forever relationship especially with his best friend's ex wife. Mike won me over in many ways, especially when he buys Izzy a puppy.

This is must read from Candis Terry. The fourth book in Sweet Texas, a small community, where you will fall in love with everyone. This book can be read as a stand alone. I am still drooling over Mike and the cupcakes.
Buckle up for a sweet and steamy surprise that will have you finishing this one in one sitting. Fiona first caught my eye in Sweetest Mistake and I was so glad to see that she got her own love story! No stranger to reckless behavior, Fiona has decided to play it safe, to be the best, most responsible mom that she can...that is until sexy firefighter and friend of her ex-husband Mike lets his interest in her be known. Their chemistry sizzled right off the page and by the end I was wiping my eyes and smiling like a crazy person. I won't spoil it for you, but puppies, princess castles, cupcakes, and TWO RINGS. Oh my heart. I am a huge fan of this author, and truly didn't think she could top my love for the the Wilder brothers' stories, but I think this one is my new favorite. I related to Fiona so much and Mike was the kind of man any girl would be lucky to find. 5 Sweet and Steamy Stars! Highly recommended to all lovers of romance!
